I’ve spent more than 30 years in the mortgage business, but I’ve never believed my job was simply to help someone get a loan.
My job is to help people make better decisions.
Sometimes that means finding the right way to finance a home. Sometimes it means looking at debt differently, considering the opportunity cost of a decision, building a stronger financial foundation—or even deciding that now isn’t the right time to buy.
Because the first question—“Can I afford this house?”—is rarely the only question worth asking.
I believe good advice starts with curiosity. What are you really trying to accomplish? Where do you want to be five or ten years from now?
Mortgages are an important tool, but they’re only one tool.
Expertise isn’t knowing one answer. It’s knowing which answer fits.
